“Gears of War 3” the dramatic, action-packed and much-anticipated blockbuster on Xbox 360 was released yesterday in some countries and launch parties are going on still in some countries. This will be the conclusion to the triology. Gears of War 3 pre-order surpassed even the Halo series with 1.3 million in number. The game which costs from $60 is flying of shelves since hardcore gamers have been waiting for this game for a long time.
Chris Wynn, lead producer for “Gears of War” at Microsoft Studios on this game said:
“We, too, couldn’t be more excited about this launch. The story is epic, and the game is stunning. The visuals are better than any game you’re going to find on Xbox or any other console.”
It’s also by far the longest “Gears of War” campaign, literally giving players more bang for their buck. Typically, role-playing games (RPGs) offer eight hours of play, 10 hours “if you’re stretching it,” Wynn said. Depending on how it’s played, “Gears of War 3” is a 12- to 14-hour game.
“Sixty dollars for a piece of entertainment is pretty expensive, but what you get for that with ‘Gears of War 3’ is pretty expansive,” Wynn said.

Madden 12 released - Madden NFL 12 released and hits stores on Tuesday, August 30 and select stores are holding midnight launches while many others have pre-order and launch deals for those that have not purchased their copy already. Toys R Us isn't offering a credit or gift card. Instead, it is giving a straight $15 discount for those that order online. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are $44.99 while the Wii version is $37.49.
Walmart is offering a $20 eGift Card for those that pre-order the PS3 and Xbox 360 standard editions online. Not good for the Hall of Fame edition unfortunately.

GameStop is offering a 30% trade-in bonus towards Madden NFL 12. This deal is good through September 11, 2011. This deal is good for in-store pre-orders too. Hastings is holding a midnight launch event from 9pm to Midnight on Monday, August 29th and is holding various in-store offers. The store is giving away a free rental coupon with the purchase of Midnight NFL 12 and $5 off the strategy guide. Kmart has possibly the best launch day deal for Madden NFL 12. The retailer is offering a $20 Gaming Coupon along with a $5 EA Sports Coupon. You'll need to sign up for a Shop Your Way Rewards membership to be eliegible for gaming coupon.
Target is offering a deal for Madden NFL 12 fans that have the munchies. Pick up the game and two bags of Doritos (11-11.5oz) and get a $10 Gift Card. Trading in Madden NFL 11 will net an additional $10 Gift Card. Trade-ins are only good at Target stores that have a Target Mobile Center.
Toys R Us is only throwing in a free NFL figure with the purchase of Madden NFL 12.
Walmart stores will start selling Madden NFL 12 one minute after Midnight on Tuesday. Picking up a Gillete Fusion ProGlide NFL Razor ($9.74) will net a code to unlock a Madden NFL 12 Ultimate Team.
HP's TouchPad, the world's initial webOS tablet is going global and will be on-sale in UK on the 15th of July with prices starting at £399. UK availability for HP's 9.7-incher has been revealed with all the usual suspects taking part: Carphone Warehouse, PC Globe, Argos, Amazon, and, obviously, HP.com. Pricing is set at £399 ($660) for the 16GB WiFi-only model or £479 ($790) for the 32GB-carrying variant. HP has also managed to get a couple of content partners on board for this launch, with "exciting, exclusive" material coming in from The Guardian, LastFM, Warner Bros, and Sky News.

Age of Conan addicts out there, I have good news for you all. Our favorite Age of Conan has moved to the Free-to-Play world. Funcom announced this morning that the extremely well-liked huge multiplayer on-line game Age of Conan will be releasing a completely new Free-to-Play version dubbed ‘Age of Conan: Unchained’ that takes the brutal world of Hyboria, and will be provided a brand new method to capture the Free-to-Play marketplace. Players can now have a chance in whether they want to experience the savage world as a free member or purchase the premium membership which will entitle them to receive even more content.

Apple's online stores went down early this morning ahead of rumors that the iMac will be refreshed with Thunderbolt and Sandy Bridge processors. New products are typically launched around 8:30am Eastern / 5:30am Pacific. No word yet from Apple or CEO Steve Jobs
Apple has revealed their new iMac. Based on Apple’s press release, the new iMac is equipped with either quad-core Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors. The new iMac is the first desktop computer to offer Thunderbolt I/O technology and comes with a FaceTime HD camera, and relies on AMD Radeon HD graphics processors. Apple claims the latest iMac, which starts at $1,199, is "up to 70 percent faster" and has "new graphics that deliver up to three times the performance of the previous generation."
Apple also showcased iMac's "green" features on its press release:
"The iMac meets stringent Energy Star 5.2 requirements and achieves EPEAT Gold rating," writes Apple. "iMac features LED-backlit displays that are mercury-free and made with arsenic-free glass. iMac uses PVC-free components and cables, contains no brominated flame retardants, uses highly recyclable materials and features material-efficient system and packaging designs."
A 21.5-inch model and 27-inch model are available in several different configurations. The new computer is available via Apple.com, Apple stores, and Apple resellers.
Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) – San Diego based MMORPG publisher Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has suffered another blow(SOE was hacked) just weeks after Sony Playstation Network (SPN) suffered from an attack. Adding to the dilemma, Sony reported that approximately 24.6 million more accounts may have been stolen, in addition to the 12,700 credit or debit card thefts reported yesterday.
A new Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) press release says that personal information including names, addresses, email addresses, login names, and hashed passwords has been illegally acquired by hackers. Another 10,700 direct debit records were pilfered from accounts in Austria, Germany, Netherlands, and Spain, including bank account numbers and the information mentioned above.
SOE plans to compensate consumers with 30 days of free subscription time as well as an additional day for each day its systems are down. The company will also provide "a complimentary offering to assist users in enrolling in identity theft protection services and/or similar programs."

Max Payne addicts rejoice! Max Payne 3 is coming and Edge magazine has released details about game series. Edge magazine’s latest issue has covered Max Payne 3 in detail where the most interesting of them is the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode. Yes you read it right. Max Payne 3 now has online multiplayer mode. However, no other details were provided about the said multiplayer component.

The Max Payne 3 game will be a joint effort from four of Rockstar s studios - Vancouver, New England, Toronto and London. Fans were taken back when they saw screens showing Max Payne as a balding, filthy hobo with a paunch two years ago. Unfortunately, it is still not clear when the release date be.
Rockstar recently released new screens showing him with a full mane, and the article covers the same, Max Payne has a full head of hair - there are screens which still show him as bald - and that he isn’t the booze-soaked hulk we’d been led to expect. The Rockstar article also mentions that Max is addicted to ubiquitous painkillers and appears to have a mental breakdown, which should explain the bald look later on in the game. Looks like Payne will be pulling a Britney Spears on us mid-game.
The game will be set in the aftermath of the events of Max Payne 2, where Max has turned into an alcoholic and driven from New York to work as a soldier of fortune in Sao Pualo, Brazil.
